Our Client is seeking a Vendor Relations Manager. This position will serve as a member of the Application Development Team under the Division of Libraries and Technology. The Applications Development Team is responsible for enterprise architecture, development, system testing, analysis, and maintenance of systems that capture, interrelate and report data. This includes but is not limited to applications that focus on finance, budget, and data collection and reporting. These systems require extensive knowledge and experience developing complex applications, reports and relational databases. This position is likely to be involved with the maintenance and enhancement of the department’s largest and most
complex enterprise applications. This person will be a member of a team practicing the Agile/Scrum development methodology.
The Applications Development Team is responsible for developing and maintaining a statewide data collection program called WISEdata. The WISEdata system is responsible for capturing data from public school districts, charter schools, and private choice schools in the state. WISEdata gathers information needed for state and federal reporting requirements. The WISEdata system is also a tool that improves the quality of school and educational data. WISEdata functions using an application programming interface (API) which creates the interoperability protocol for educational software used by school districts. Data collected via the API is also
used to feed other vendor systems which streamlines data collections and reduces redundancy. In addition, the WISEdata system provides the data used by DPI’s WISEdash business intelligence and reporting system used for public reporting and by districts and schools.
This position is responsible for vendor communications and coordination in order to meet the agency's strategic goals and initiatives, promoting educational data systems interoperability. This position is also responsible for providing systems analysis, research and documentation, managing vendor certification testing, performing quality assurance, business analysis, and second level customer services support..
This position will be responsible for the following roles and tasks
● Communicate with vendors on software requirements, policies, and data submission
● Onboard and recruit new vendors on compliance with the WISEdata E-Fi Integration
● Track vendor software or training issues impacting schools
● Monitor data quality and software deficiencies
● Coordinate and perform vendor certification testing
● Facilitate vendor and WISEdata user advisory groups
● Research and answer second level support ticket related to vendor implementation issues
● Attend vendor user conferences to present, train, and support DPI WISE systems
● Coordinate and train DPI vendor training leads
● Provide documentation on DPI web pages to support vendor system integration needs
● Collaborates with the DPI Customer Services Team
Under general supervision of the Applications Development Team manager, this person will work closely with others to accomplish project objectives, or function independently to accomplish daily work requirements as a member of the Applications Development Team. Objectives, priorities and deadlines are established in consultation with the department program area leaders, project managers, and the Applications Development Team manager.
Required Skills:
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Experience performing external communications

● Process a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience integration and
● Prepare business requirements and functional specifications
● Experience writing user stories with clearly defined acceptance criteria
● Ability to maintain good external vendor relations
● Ability to perform application and system regression tests
Required Technical Skills:
● Ability to grasp technical concepts and communicate to software developers
● Experience using relational databases (writing queries, etc) using SQL Server
Preferred Experience:
● Experience working with education software systems at the school, district, or state levels
● Understanding of application programming interface (API) technologies
● Knowledge of data warehousing and reporting
