NorthShore Resources has a full time opportunity for an ECommerce Developer with our client in Minneapolis, MN.

Job Summary:

This role will partner with key IT business partners, IT business analysts. IT developers and end users within the organization to design and deploy enterprise-wide IBM WebSphere Commerce solutions that empower business teams with tools and functionality for improved business performance measured by increased revenue, reduced costs, improved productivity and customer satisfaction. Primary responsibilities include IBM WebSphere Commerce expertise and using functional knowledge and technical skills to transform business requirements into stable technical solutions for the business.

Responsibilities: 
  • Accountable for IBM WebSphere Commerce services in operation including on-call support (keep the lights on)
  • Actively maintain an operational service catalog
  • Coordinate with software and/or service vendors as needed and respond promptly to production support issues
  • Responsible for creating knowledge base of support documentation that includes issue trackers, FAQs
  • Responsible for designing, developing and deploying end to end IBM WebSphere Commerce solutions, or selected functionality within IBM WebSphere Commerce
  • Works with business end users, IT business analysts, and other IT Build teams to design, build, test and deploy features and functionalities prioritized by the business
  • Compliance, Embedded Security & Privacy by design
  • Actively maintain a development service catalog – a repository of development offerings/best practices
  • Ensure compatibility and optimized integration between our major enterprise applications including, but not limited to, ERP, PIM and Identity Management
  • Maintain an up to date inventory of all existing IBM WebSphere Commerce assets & solutions. This includes information such as integration points, usage/adoption, lifecycle risk/outlook and conversion/migration challenges
  • Participate, lead and advise on efforts to consolidate and rationalize our IBM WebSphere Commerce solutions footprint
  • Collaborate with the IT business partners/analysts to direct innovation efforts based on business needs
  • Stay abreast and investigate technologies in the Digital customer experience space
  • Research ongoing industry developments and make recommendations on enhancing our technology posture
  • Monitor and identify lifecycle risks and develop roadmaps for remediation
  • Work with IT leadership to budget and schedule risk remediation projects
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or MIS required.
  • 8+ years of overall experience in information technology of which 5+ years in roles with primary focus in IBM WebSphere Commerce
  • Experience with other market leading B2B and B2C ECommerce solutions is a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the following areas:
    • Hands-on experience in developing eCommerce applications using WebSphere Commerce Suite
    • Knowledge on recent WCS versions - V7, V8 or later including the latest Feature Packs
    • Strong understanding of WCS data model and sub-systems
    • Should have demonstrated Hands-On Skills and expertise in the following Subsystems in WCS (Order, Catalog, Member.)
    • B2B and B2C Store Development Experience with extended sites model (emphasis on B2C)
    • Strong Understanding of the WCS Runtime Framework and be comfortable working with Struts, Spring
    • Strong understanding and hands-on experience in WCS key concepts like BOD, REST, SOA
    • Experience with J2EE architecture and development including servlets, EJBs, JMS, and JSP
    • Experience integrating WebSphere Commerce with Web Content Management Systems (CMS)
    • Ability to work with SVN
