NorthShore Resources has a 1 year contract opportunity for a Technical QA Analysts  with our client in St. Paul, MN!
Our Clients seeks  Technical Quality Assurance Analyst(s) with the necessary skill set to plan, create, and execute manual or automated test scripts for several custom developed applications needing re-write/modernization and enhancements work.   COMS is one application that contains over 70 modules which collect and tracks data about 16,000+ people.  COMS is critical to the operations, every business unit in the agency uses this system on a daily basis for their own unique and complex business processes.  A large part of COMS is written in technologies that are near end-of-life.  Their new system being developed internally.  This system provides notifications to victims in the community as they register to receive information based on different criteria.

Tasks

  • Review, interpret, and clarify system and user interface requirements in the form of High Level Requirements, Use Cases, Process Diagrams, Entity Relationship Diagrams, and Wireframes
  • Design and create detailed test plans for software testing
  • Design and create detailed test scenarios and test cases for software testing
  • Establish test entrance and exit criteria
  • Confirm and report on testing status
  • Provide testing estimates
  • Ability to self-organize and prioritize features and test cases
  • Write and execute T-SQL test scripts
  • Perform functional, regression, security, and accessibility testing
  • Use bug tracking software’s to track and report problems in detail
  • Produce evaluated test reports and take part in software walkthrough

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five (5) years’ experience in a Quality Assurance Analyst role for custom web application development
  • Two (2) engagements lasting at least (1) year in a Quality Assurance Analyst role in application development
  • Two (2) years’ experience writing and executing T-SQL or SQL statements
  • Two (2) years’ experience creating test plans 
  • Two (2) years’ experience writing test cases
  • Two (2) year experience executing manual test cases
  • Two (2) years’ experience testing a system with role based security 
  • Two (2) years’ experience testing a web based application

Desired Skills

  • QA experience on a system re-write project
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent
  • Accessibility (508 compliance) testing experience
  • Ability to communicate (verbally & written) test plans, expectations, updates, progress, issues, and successes in a timely & clear fashion to the project team members
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
  • Ability to read and write program codes
  • Experience in using automated testing tools
  • Experience with Active Directory
  • Experience using TFS
  • Experience working in Corrections, Judicial, or Law Enforcement Agencies
