NorthShore Resources has a 6+ month contract opportunity for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer in Richfield, MN.  

Our client, a top national retailer, is looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with strong experience in network administration, including interface configuration and routing. In this role, you will create, manage, maintain, and troubleshoot systems from the application level down to the operating system and hardware level.

  • Experience using Cloud platforms, such as Rackspace, Openstack, EC2, Azure, or GCE
  • Experience creating, managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting systems from the application level down to the operating system and hardware level
  • Experience deploying, maintaining, and operating applications deployed in cloud instances
  • Network administration and configuration experience including interface configuration and routing
  • Experience with Linux system administration, including a high comfort level with Rhel and/or Ubuntu
  • Experience with Continuous integration and deployment practices
  • Infrastructure automation experience using tools such as Chef or Puppet
  • Experience with at least one scripting or programming language (e.g. Ruby, Python or Bash)
  • Experience looking at existing processes and determining the best way to engineer a solution that will be maintainable and extensible
  • Experience with continuous delivery, including build and deployment pipelines
  • UnderstandIng of system administration, such as creating and installing software, managing operating system processes, and engineering solutions for backup and recovery
  • Experience with Agile practices, including automated testing
  • Ability to be part of an on-call rotation
  • Working knowledge of distributed data and distributed applications
  • Experience creating self-service solutions
  • Experience with REST web services
  • OpenStack experience
  • Ceph storage experience
  • Jenkins experience
  • Experience operating and administrating Atlassian tools, such as Jira and Confluence
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to reach across functional borders
  • Ability to work autonomously to deal with ambiguous requirements and solve complicated problems
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Operating and maintaining web applications running on virtual machines.
  • Infrastructure automation.
  • Create maintaining tools to support software developers.
  • Contributing to agile team cadenc.
  • Administer and operate Atlassian tools, primarily Jira and Confluence.
  • Develop metrics to track and monitor performance of internal infrastructure.
  • Implement solutions in an automated and repeatable fashion using infrastructure automation tools such as Opscode Chef.
