NorthShore Resources has a Contract opportunity for a Database Developer in Minneapolis, MN!

The Database Developer will work to enhance a database system to handle new data sources.  This will take a combination of extending the existing frameworks and original problem solving.  There are some OS level utilities but the majority of the work is in SQL logic, stored procedures, and probably new tables / data design.  There may be additional projects as well such as enhancing the Reporting Environment or enhancements to data feeds.

Most of the work will be done in MS SQL, although some Oracle (read only) will be needed as well.

This person will need to be comfortable dealing directly with Business Partners, users, and SMEs for these projects.  
 
Skills and abilities:
  • Knowing how to create SQL queries, creating database stored procedures, and creating / modifying tables for operational use as well as reporting and data warehousing.
  • Be able to troubleshoot slow performance and other performance tuning
  • Experience in multiple environments, developing different systems, and working with different vendor packages
  • 5-8 years' of experience.  This isn't an architect level role but it needs some seniority and taking ownership of your own work.
