IT Asset Management Analyst

The IT Asset Management (ITAM) Analyst provides ongoing asset management analysis and support with the objectives of optimizing IT asset costs and minimizing risk of loss, service failure, and contract non-compliance. The ITAM Analyst will support the IT organization with ordering of IT hardware and software, as well as manage processes, strategies, and technologies that support a full lifecycle approach to managing all IT assets of our corporate infrastructure. IT Asset Management covers a wide spectrum of responsibility, including aiding with asset requests, approvals, procurement, receipt, setup, installation, repairs, changes, upgrades, moves, analysis, and disposal of assets.
The person in this position partners in the creation and execution of functional test plans and ensures that applications in development are system tested. This position assists with interpreting business needs into technical requirements, prioritizing IS&T work efforts, and obtaining appropriate approvals and documentation for change management planning.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or Management Information Systems or 4+ years of IT experience
  • 3+ years experience as an IT Asset Management Analyst, IT Business Analyst, IT application manager, or software procurement specialist.
  • Hands-on experience with database, programming languages and end-user software in a networked environment
  • Working knowledge of programming languages
  • In depth experience with word processing, e-mail and spreadsheet software
  • Hands-on experience with database, programming languages and/or end-user software in a networked environment
  • Effectively establish and maintain working relationships with peers and constituents
  • Good written and oral communication skills for technical and non-technical topics
  • Effectively analyze and resolve problems
  • Ability to read technical documentation
  • Arbitration skills
  • Ability to handle and manage a high degree of change
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and familiar with Scrum principles.
  • Experience developing and implementing ITAM practices and policies.
  • IAITAM certification preferred, but not required (CSAM, CHAMP, CAMP).
  • Experience working with ServiceNow asset management, or Snow Software License Manager desired.
  • Experience working with ServiceNow APM or other Application Portfolio Management tool.
  • Experience working with PowerShell, SQL, Windows server administration, Linux, .net, Power BI, UiPath
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Maintains an accurate database to track IT hardware and software throughout the entire asset life cycle.
  • Builds reports in support of organizational ITAM objectives.
  • Ensures the database contains a comprehensive set of attributes, such as location, assigned users, utilization, and license entitlement, in support of ITAM objectives.
  • Understand Product Use Rights, license allowances, and contractual entitlements for software products and manufacturers (with a specialty in one or more manufacturers).
  • Reconciles software entitlements with software deployment and procurement information to produce license compliance reports.
  • Assists with performance of formal external vendor software audits, gathering data, producing audit reports and addressing all audit findings.
  • Participates in the development of ITAM processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Engages Application Owners and Managers to help collect, organize, and manage their licensed software assets.
  • Guiding Application Owners in Application Portfolio Management processes.
  • Develop and deliver organizational learning and communication materials related to ITAM topics to audiences across the enterprise.
  • Develops technical specifications in alignment with defined functional requirements.
  • Interprets and documents business partner needs into functional requirements.
  • Reviews application problems; informing IS&T's business partners of current status and expected resolutions.
  • Serves as a liaison between business partners and application development team members to analyze, document and validate functional requirements.
  • Designs screens, reports and dataflow to align with business needs.
  • Documents and tracks business application request lifecycles; ensuring priorities, changes and issues are managed for IS&T application development.
  • Gathers information regarding costs and resource availability for SRFs, mid-sized projects and issue resolution.
  • Tracks, maintains and retains documentation that supports the adherence to IS&T standards, processes and procedures.
  • Clarifies and documents process, policy and/or procedural changes for development staff and for IS&T business partners.
  • Ensures that the appropriate approvals and documentation for change control and problem management are retained.
  • Provides training, documentation and support for IS&Ts business partners for system changes and/or new developments.
  • Documents data flows through applications; demonstrating system functionality.
  • Creates and executes test plans for small to mid-sized system changes.
  • Assists with business partner testing efforts and test plan creation; running programs and producing reports to enable business partners testing.
