Process Improvement BA/PM

St. Paul, MN
NorthShore Resources has an immediate need for a Process Improvement BA/PM resource at one of our local MN clients.  This is a 6 month contract opportunity.  Please review the mandatory skills listed below.  We are looking for local Minnesota candidate only. 

The Process Improvement Consultant will be responsible for developing and executing on the following deliverables and associated activities:
  • Process improvement planning and project management
    • Directing and managing project development
    • Develop an activities list and timeline (project plan tracked in WorkOtter).
    • Define scope and develop project plan
    • Resource management
  • Business needs analysis
    • Identify key stakeholder groups.
    • Identify problem/opportunities and impact on current state environment.
    • Understand key stakeholder roles and high-level requirements.
    • Research and analysis for future state recommendations
  • High-level requirements elicitation, including any or all of the following techniques: document analysis, brainstorming, focus groups, interviews, observation, prototyping, requirements workshops, reverse engineering, and surveys and/or questionnaire
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer to county and city staff as appropriate.
  • Assist in drafting project deliverables. 
  • Requirements Analysis and Documentation, including
    • Document, organize, analyze and model (if appropriate) user (stakeholder) requirements, functional requirements, and quality of service (non-functional) requirements along with their attributes.
    • Identify and document assumptions and constraints.
    • Facilitate the identification of risks; document risks.
    • Create and submit weekly status reports.
  • Requirements communication, including audience-specific presentations, reviews, and sign-offs as applicable
  • Other related duties as assigned
Mandatory Qualifications
  • B.S. or B.A. degree (4 year) (or Associates degree plus an additional 5 years’ experience)
  • 5 years’ experience in process improvement, project/program management and business analysis
  • Intermediate-level experience with strategy analysis, gathering requirements, research and analysis and facilitation, and coaching and mentoring
  • At least 3 previous engagement with similar scope
  • Intermediate-level skills with MS Office Suite
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Coaching and mentoring of staff
Desired Skills
  • Experience writing business cases.
  • Experience working directly with both senior business leaders and end-user staff.
  • Experience working within county, city, or state agencies.
  • Experience tracking projects in an online project management software (ie. WorkOtter)
  • Lean Green or Black Belt Certification
  • Experience planning and facilitating Kaizen/Rapid Improvement Events/Workshops
CBAP or PMI-PBA certification
