EDI Application Integration/ Architect

NorthShore Resources has an exciting contract for hire opportunity in Lake County, Il for one of our premier clients.  They are looking for an EDI Application Architect.   The client offices are now fully on-site so you must be willing to work at this location.  No 3rd parties & must be eliglible to be hired without sponsorship. Details are below. 

EDI Application architect with primary duties supporting BizManager B2B / EDI Translator application.  Secondary Application architect support role for our additional middleware applications including TIBCO, AutoSys, MQFTE, and Informatica.

Integration Architect will be the lead contributor to ensure the technical realization of IT solutions in the EDI and business-to-business integration space and that they are designed and implemented to meet business and technical requirements.  The role will be responsible to ensure that solutions are in accordance with organizational guidelines, standards, reference architecture, and best practices.
 

Integration Architect will work closely with project teams, analysts, solution architects and enterprise architects to ensure overall integrity and scalability of solutions and ensure off-the-shelf applications that are part of the solution architecture are configured and implemented to the standards of the overall enterprise architecture.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze, assess and optimize existing EDI processes
  • Develop enhancements to address, prevent and resolve business issues
  • Develop, maintain and operate (as necessary) EDI application
  • Assist in design, development, maintenance and operation (as necessary) of all proprietary products and workflow tools used within Integrations Area
  • Help plan and organize tasks, report progress, manage & coordinate with cross functional teams for EDI project implementation
  • Project management
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and patch application
  • Perform capacity planning and impact analysis
  • Create, document, communicate, and govern best practices for enterprise B2B/EDI environment
  • Implement environment and application monitoring of CPU, storage, processes, services, etc.
  • Assist developers in resolving issues related to access, configuration, performance/code optimization

 

SKILLS AND INTEREST:

Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with business, technical and management resources. Ability to manage mid size integration projects including System Lifecycle documentation

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 9+ years' experience as B2B/EDI Administrator

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

  • OpenText BizManager B2B / EDI Translator application
  • Strong understanding of Linux/Unix operating system commands and permissions
  • Strong shell scripting skills to automate administrative task
  • Understanding of SQL language
  • Level 3 Support - troubleshoot, root cause analysis
  • Assist developers in resolving issues related to access, configuration, performance/code optimization
  • EDI Translation; X12, Edifact, XML
  • Communication protocols; AS2, SFTP, HTTPS, MFT
  • Create, document, communicate, and govern best practices for enterprise B2B/EDI environment
  • Ability to design interfaces following standard best practices
  • Basic understanding of networking (load balancers, firewall rules, proxies)
  • Basic understanding of security practices (encryption, least access, logging)
  • Microsoft tools including Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and Project
  • Vendor relations for licensing and operational support tickets
  • Familiarity with highly available environments including business continuity via disaster recovery
  • Familiarity with other middleware applications such as TIBCO, MQ/MFT, AutoSys, Informatica
